Halloween’s Origins
There is evil in the history behind Halloween.
Most of us think of Halloween as a time when kids dress up in costume and beg for candy. Adults dress up in costumes, eat candy and go to parties.
The Original Pagan Holidays
A good look into the long history of the festivities of October 31st reveals a dark and chilling pagan religious holiday, Samhain. The dominant theme of Samhain is and has been one of ghosts, evil spirits and the dead.
An echo of this theme is found in Mexico’s “Day of the Dead” when the spirits of the dead wander the Earth and are appeased with offerings and treats.
Most popular American Halloween traditions come from the Irish (Celtic) Druidic celebrations of Samhain such as:
- wearing masks and costumes for disguise and trickery
- demanding candy or gifts or else vandalism will occur
- carving pumpkins and putting a candle inside
- leaving offerings for demons so as not to make them angry, which is the “trick or treat” foundation.
What Is Really Done on Halloween?
Occultic Spiritual Activities
Halloween is shared by the practitioners of black magic and occult. It is a night of occult celebration and dark deeds.
Carved pumpkins are used for Satanic harvest.
Torment and Deception
The dead return, evil spirits play tricks, and humans honor them in costume and deeds.
Occult practitioners do astral projection for evil purposes to steal, kill and destroy from other people including Christians. They do witchcraft to torment all who are involved.
Satanic Rituals
It is a time when many satanic rituals are performed to call upon demons and dead spirits, to gain power and favor with Satan.
- Sacrifice
Animal and human sacrifices are done because the shedding of blood is used to worship Satan.
- Murder and Kidnapping
Candy and treats are given to children to make them “sweet” to predators and demons to abuse. Children are dedicated to Satan to serve him. Innocent people (especially children), kidnapped ones and ones with occult families are tormented, sexually ritualized or murdered.
- Defiling Acts
Blood and sex rituals are done with animals, humans and demons to create covenants and gain power and promotion in Satan’s kingdom of darkness.
The Counterfeit Replacement
These traditions and rituals started a long time ago and the Roman Catholic Church tried to override it by offering “All Saints Day”. However, this day also has a focus on the dead, and costuming celebrations.
You can see that Halloween has not ceased by the attempted replacement but instead has been monetized and glorifies evil. Satan and witchcraft have become more widespread and accepted.
Should Christians Take Part in Halloween?
Instead of being good, healthy or pleasing to God, Halloween is an evil holiday. This is not an innocent celebration that one can say, “Because I am not a witch, I am not doing anything wrong.” By joining this celebration, we are uniting and celebrating with those who do such evil things.
So should Christians take part in this? Definitely not, as it is impossible to play with fire and not be burned.
Proverbs 6:27–28 asks: “Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched?”
Isaiah 5:20 says “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Prayer of Renunciation
If you have participated in celebrating Halloween before (even in the “seemingly innocent” practices of giving out candy and dressing in costumes) knowing or not knowing the origins, you need to repent and renounce it.
Why is Repentance and Renunciation Needed?
- Celebrating a holiday centered around death and fear creates agreement with the spirit of death, darkness, and fear. This agreement gives permission for them to influence your life.
- If any of your ancestors celebrated, or were practicing occultic or pagan practices, there are spiritual legal rights for the kingdom of darkness to torment, steal, kill, and destroy in your family. (Exodus 20:5-6, John 10:10)
- Any offering / sacrifice given to gain favor with any pagan god in the past is an abomination to the one True God Yahweh. It is also rejection of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, as under the New Covenant, Jesus Christ was the only worthy blood sacrifice given to restore relationship with God, who now gives us His love and power freely. (Romans 3:23-26)
Pray this prayer today, adding in anything else the Holy Spirit brings to your mind or flows through your heart as you pray sincerely:
“Father God, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I renounce any involvement I have had with this pagan holiday.
I also renounce any involvement my ancestors may have had with Halloween, and I cancel all worship that Satan received through their involvement. Father, in the Name of Jesus, we repent for inviting the spirit of death into our bloodlines and for opening the way for this spirit to have legal right to enter our homes and come onto our lands.
Father, please forgive us for granting it legal right to harm our families. We take authority over this spirit and bind it in Jesus’ Name. We render it powerless and remove all power, authority, and rank assigned to it, in Jesus’ Name.
In the Name of Jesus, we break the Druid curse invoked against those who did not willingly offer their children for sacrifice. We break the demonic seals of death [hexagrams, stars] placed on our doors as a consequence, in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
I serve notice to Satan that I will not participate in anything that represents him, and I choose to engage only in what represents my Lord, Jesus Christ. I pray that the blood of Jesus Christ now covers and protects me and my family. I ask for His blood to come wash our bloodline clean of these curses and impurities and replace it with His righteousness and holiness.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
Have You or Your Ancestors Been involved in Witchcraft/Pagan Practices?
If you or your family have been involved in witchcraft, pagan, occult, or New Age practices, it is necessary to repent and renounce the specific practices and spiritual covenants, otherwise spiritual legal rights will still exist for the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy.
